Its Sunday....

We had a nice weekend. The Hairy One is feeling better, but he tires easily and he doesn't appear to be really happy with me. He is totally preferring Daddy right now.

I received an email today from my evil aunt. What a surprise, huh? It was written very sweetly, and I truly feel in my heart that she doesn't mean a dang thing that she says in it. I am unsure of how to respond. In general, if someone who I dislike is nice to me, I will respond nicely back to them - even though I know they are being fake. I thought about calling her on her behavior, but I doubt that would do any good.

This is the email:

Hi Kimberly

Hope this finds you at your best. It's me your Tia Leticia. Just wanted to share I finally saw the DVD you made your mom. I love the effects and love the pictures both past and present.

Mija you know you are always welcome to come and visit even if just to say hello. I feel sad I don't know your kids or they possibly don't know of me. I heard it was shared with you I was in a car accident in March. I am fine now, feeling good and doing good. I did lose some weight from a size 14-- large went down to size 6/8 --- medium. I still have my energy LOL.

It was shared with me you're keeping your dad with you. You keep him as long as you want, it was just a thought of having him near my dad and mom.

Well I must go for now, you take care and may your days be blessed.
Keep in touch even if just to say hello. Say hi to the kids for me, show them a picture so they know who is saying hello .
Love always Tia
Leticia

She is good at poisoning others' minds.....so I feel like I have to tread lightly and watch my response. My family is large, and if I have any hope of keeping ties to my out of state family.........I have to be very careful.
And no, my kids don't know her because I refuse to talk about her. I will not introduce my kids to a woman who starved me as an infant, told everyone that my husband and I would never last, and claimed that my oldest child was a selfish attempt to prevent my cousin (her daughter) from having the only baby in the family.
*sigh*
Maybe tonight is not a good night to respond....I'll have a clearer head in the morning.

Update...

Last night was rough. The Hairy One cried all night. It was my turn to stay up with him, so we lay in the loft for most of the time. At around 2 am, he said he wanted to sleep with LegoQueen. SO I carried him to her room and lay him in her bed. She automatically put her arm around him and pulled him close to her. I told her that he was hot, so give him some room. But at 5 am he started screaming, and I ran into the room to find him on the floor screaming and thrashing around. So I picked him up and took him back to the loft with me.

I slept in, and when I got up I realized my MIL was going to be at my house within an hour! So I got everyone up and dressed, and tried to give Hairy his meds. He held it in his mouth and refused to swallow. Urgh! He ended up crying and spitting it all over the floor. I finally got him to take it and just then MIL showed up- bearing candy, donuts, and Capri-Sun boxes.
I went to my dr appt (all is well) and came back home. The kids and I hung out for the rest of the day. They wanted to meet their friends at the park, but we just couldn't today. Not with Hairy being sick.
He's doing much better though - pretty much back to himself. I am looking forward to a restful night, AHHHHHH. Right now we are all sitting on my bed watching SpongeBob and eating candy. Nice - they are going to be bouncing off the walls for another 4 hours.......

Oh, and one more thing that I wanted to write about.....

I'm meeting a group of ladies on Tuesday. My friend Caryn is coming (she's in the group) and I invited my other friend Beatriz (BTW, ALL of my friends are welcome to come - we can make a fun day out of it). SO anyway, I'm going to meet all these ladies.

But tonight I was really upset. One of the ladies I have already met, and she is SOOO nice. She likes to scrapbook, and so every Friday night she invites the ladies in the group to come over and hang out. Pretty much like a knitting night, except its at her house - not Starbucks (rofl) SO for the past two weeks, people have told her that they will come, and then they don't and they don't call or anything to let her know. So she ends up sitting in an empty house alone. Which sucks, IMO. What is worse is that two of the ladies who say they are coming over and they DON'T are her two NEIGHBORS!!!
When I read her post to the group, I was mad. I almost wrote back that they should feel ashamed of themselves, but instead I gave her a (((HUG))) and told her that I would see her tomorrow (she and her hubby are coming to softball practice tomorrow) and that we would have agreat time.
I don't know - some of the ladies I would really like to meet because we have clicked online, but then those bad apples are supposed to come too..I guess I could really count on them NOT showing up at all - since they have that reputation, lol.

Anyway.....Khris, Frankie - I'll send you guys an email tonight and see if you want to come out and make a play date out of it.

Spoke too soon....

I'll make this short. Hongo and I are physically and emotionally drained.
Long story short - we rushed the Hairy One to the urgent care tonight. It turns out he has a double ear infection (really bad) and he has strep (also, very bad) The lump is a lymphnode that is trying to fight the infection.
The dr suggested a shot of antibiotics to hasten the process. I agreed to it, and I swear it was the most awful thing ever. He screamed so loud and clung to me (he got it in the butt)I cried almost as hard as he did. Then we had to rush around and try to find a pharmacy that was open AND carried the medicine we needed.

We aren't going to park tomorrow. I am so sorry. The kids are so sad, but its better for him to stay home and rest, and better that we don't share it with all of our friends.

B, if you are reading - we got your video while we were in the waiting room. We all crowded around the phone and watched it a few times!

Send us get well vibes~

Can this day get any better??

It probably could, but let's not get greedy now!

I knew yesterday that I was going to have a full day today. I scheduled someone to come out and give me a quote on a security system (which was DUMB of me to schedule at noon - the kids' lunch hour!) and I also have more grocery shopping to finish.

Well, this morning I was cleaning downstairs and the kids wanted to go to the park. I looked around and figured that the only other thing I needed to do was mop....so sure - we could go to the park.
We get to the park and that lady from Monday and her girls were there. So I sat down and we chatted while the kids played. Then her daughter showed us that her bike tire went flat. Uh-oh! SO I asked the park guys if they had a pump, and they didn't. So I drove home, got our pump, went back and pumped the girls tire. Otherwise they were going to have to walk home, and they don't live too terribly close to that park.
We came home and waited for the security guy to come. Turns out - its a lady!
I invited her in, and she was really easy to talk to. I think the reason I bought one is because I felt more at ease asking my questions. So I was able to get all the information I needed, and able to make a decision.
We're getting a security system and the kids are excited, and Hongo is excited ( don't believe me? well, trust me - he IS) I don't really care either way. But Hongo has been buggin me for a while to have one put in, so I guess I'm excited that he won't pester me anymore.

Now my house is clean, and the installers are going to come tomorrow. Which means we may be late for park (major bummer)

Now that I have written this out, I think that it doesn't sound all that great. But beleive me - it is. I feel great today. Plus the kids are playing outside and are being nice to eat other. I get to finally eat my lunch in peace!

Yes, now I am addicted too....

After reading Laurie's blog entry about the show "How clean is your house" I went and searched for it online. Then I discovered that I actually do receive the BBC channel. So I Tivo'd it and booted LegoQueen off the couch to sit and watch it.

Grosss!!! I swear this is the best show ever. It twists your stomach and makes you want to ralph, but ya keep watching it - wondering what they will uncover next. Kim and Aggie (the show's hosts) are so funny and frank. Gotta love the rubber cloves with poofy lining on the edges, lol.

The best part of watching the show is....its soooo disgusting that it makes my kids get up and take a second look at their rooms. At the mere mention of carpet beetles, LQ went and vacuumed her room. It was also a very good educational lesson about cleanliness and hygiene. One episode we watched showed a family whose children had lizards. They would touch them, then touch a drinking glass, and other items, and the bacteria was transferred from hands to each item. It was a good visual for the kids.

So yeah, I ordered season pass for that show. With all the voluntary help I got this weekend, its is worth it.

Happy Birthday to Hongo....

Yes, it was my Hongo's 32nd birthday. He's kind of a doofus - I had to remind him that today was his birthday....
Before I go any further, I want to talk about something that caught my eye. I was in the Vallarta grocery store and I happened to look over and saw this:

Hongo Killer

Its a yellow package and its got a giant brown foot on it (I think that's racist, BTW) Its a fungus killer for footsies.

I started laughing so hard in the store, my kids thought I was insane. Some company is out there trying to snuff out my man....

Today we went to the park to meet with my friend Caryn, and that lady. It was nice - we all chatted and I think we all got along really well. The woman stayed until about 12:30 and then Caryn and I kept the kids together until about 2:30.

The kids were all grouchy about being separated, and once i got them home, they were okay - except for lil miss attitude LQ. She got in MAJOR trouble tonight, and she's getting a phone call from GRANDMA tomorrow. Its trouble when grandma has to call and get involved....lol.

Right now we are watching the Dodger game - Barry Bonds makes me want to throw up. Worse than Barry - Joe Morgan makes me want to gag. I wish ESPN would can him so I dont have to hear his stupid mouth anymore....

Tomorrow is Park - YAY!

We have a date.....

August 28th. Its going to be an all day thing.

In the meantime, we are going to ask the dr to request a new set of bloodwork. We want to be absolutely sure we are moving in the right direction.

Life at our house has been pretty good. LegoQueen has started to pitch in and help more often. I also made a new chore that the kids are going to take turns doing. I am having them rinse the dishes after I wash them. So far the response has been great - the kids all want to stand next to me at the sink. Now if I could just get them all to want to clean their rooms.........

I think that the Hairy One is ready to "start school" The girls were sitting down doing their lessons, and he asked for something to do too. He made it very clear that it was to be "easy". So I gave him a page to color. Then he turned it over and all it had was where you had to pick out the black picture in each row. He thought it was too hard, until I showed him how to do it. He just asked for another page!

This year I am going to put off buying a math book for LegoQueen. I can't find any that aren't too boring. I found a series at the local library that I will just rotate checking out and see how it goes.

That's all for now -we are going to the park tomorrow to meet a lady that I met online. I am making my friend Caryn go with me so in case it doesn't work out it isn't so awkward. I feel it is her duty anyway - she is the one who introduced me to the site, lol! I think this woman is a knitter, so if she's decent enough, I'll invite her to come to the new knitting night that my other friend is trying to put together.
